Vintage travel posters inspire in us a two-pronged yearning: They give us the itch to roam, and they make us wish we could indulge in a little time travel, too.
The Boston Public Library is currently hosting an exhibition of vintage travel posters, and the organizers, bless their hearts, have posted the library’s entire collection of travel posters on the web, for those of us who might have trouble making our way to Beantown before October 17, when the exhibition ends. We’ve picked a few of our favorites for your consideration below, but we encourage you to check out the more than 340 others via this slide show. It’s the cheapest form of travel, both terrestrial and temporal, one could hope for.
